Hello! Marzeta here.

I want to live in a world where self-defined success is achieved, giving back is a way of life, and every day is treated like a holiday, every meal like a feast, and every paycheck like a fortune. I do my best to live out loud in the space where work, life, service, and exploration (food, travel, people!) intersect.

I care deeply about culture and cuisine, communications and conversation, charity and community, education and lifelong learning. These values inspire and fuel my purpose-driven approach to work, leadership, and life.

Over the past 20+ years, I have worked across a wide range of sectors including aviation, tourism, education, financial services, and government. I have held roles in the public, private, and non-profit sectors, sometimes simultaneously, and I have also embraced the adventure of entrepreneurship. My professional journey began in public relations at Cayman Airways, the national flag carrier, and continued after graduate studies with a strategic marketing and business development role at leading offshore law firm Appleby, where I managed global corporate teams, multi-million-dollar budgets, and high-value client relationships.

In 2013, I made a deliberate shift toward a portfolio career that allowed me to blend passion with purpose across diverse projects and platforms. That journey has included working on global stages like the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics, where I supported press operations for the historic multi-sport event to unite people through sport and culture; helping bring TEDx to the Cayman Islands for the first time by producing two TEDxSevenMileBeach events to help amplify big ideas worth spreading; supporting youth empowerment and financial literacy through Junior Achievement Cayman Islands; and leading an international service organisation made up of 1,100 members across 10 countries through Rotaract District 7020 - a year that deepened my commitment to community, collaboration, and leadership development on a regional scale.

I have also brought my own ideas to life. Inspired by my Master’s thesis on gastronomy tourism, I created Cayman Food Tours, a walking food tour company that shared the Cayman Islands’ culture, cuisine, and history with more than 3,000 guests. I co-founded Revel Unit, a mas band for Cayman Carnival Batabano that brought colour, music, and movement to the streets. And I created Girl on Purpose, a collaborative, profit-for-purpose eBook featuring over 50 contributors with a shared commitment to advancing equality in education.

From 2018, I was part of the Celebrate Cayman special projects team within the Cayman Islands Government, coordinating initiatives that uncovered our history, fostered national pride, celebrated diversity, and engaged youth around major milestones such as the 60th anniversary of the Cayman Islands Coat of Arms and Constitution. Then in early 2020, I served on the policy and communications team supporting the Premier, Cabinet, and the Senior Leadership Team through the critical early response to the COVID-19 pandemic - a high-trust, high-impact opportunity to serve during a time of national uncertainty.

Each of these projects gave me a platform to merge creativity and community impact in ways that continue to inspire me.

Whether I am collaborating with institutions or carving out new spaces for meaningful work, I love the challenge of bringing bold ideas to life through strategic action, intentional storytelling, and creative execution. My work is shaped by my CliftonStrengths - Ideation, Relator, Futuristic, Activator, and Connectedness - fueling a blend of vision, depth, action, and meaning in everything I do.

Currently, I serve as the Deputy Director of Tourism Product Development for the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, where I lead the coordination and implementation of projects designed to enhance the quality, competitiveness, and sustainability of the destination’s tourism product, both natural and built. It is work that allows me to blend vision, strategy, and community impact, and I am proud to help shape the visitor experience in my home country.

I also remain deeply committed to service and civic leadership, serving on the boards of Cayman Connection, CICSA Co-Op Credit Union, and Rotary Central Cayman Islands. These volunteer roles that reflect my dedication to diaspora engagement, financial empowerment, and community service.

Behind the scenes, I am involved with Smith Road Publishing, a growing podcast network producing bold, thought-provoking shows on everything from pop culture to politics to Caribbean life. Its flagship, The Link Up Podcast, has become known for unapologetic, intergenerational conversations that are both insightful and entertaining. It is like catching up with smart, funny friends who are not afraid to challenge norms. I am proud to be part of a platform that is amplifying local voices and shifting the dialogue.

My academic background includes a Master of Science in Marketing Management from the University of Surrey, a dual Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing from Florida International University, and certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP®) from the Project Management Institute. I specialise in business development, experience curation, leadership development, project management, strategic marketing, and communications. I am especially grateful for experiences that have expanded my perspective, like my 6-month, 13-country immersion journey in 2019. From yoga teacher training in an Indian ashram, to wildlife and wave-riding in Sri Lanka, to Carnival celebrations across the Caribbean and community connections across Southeast Asia, that adventure helped reinforce just how much richness, beauty, and wisdom there is in our global community … and how much we have to learn from each other.

I believe in the power of thoughtful, intentional work - both the kind we do out in the world and the kind we do within ourselves. I have a deep admiration for people committed to doing both.

When I am not taking action for impact, you can find me enjoying a delicious meal with family and friends, dancing up a storm to soca music, serving the community through the Rotary family, planning my next trip to discover more flavours of the world, curled up with a good book, listening to a podcast, or with legs folded and eyes closed on a yoga mat, resetting and recharging.

Let’s connect, collaborate, and create something meaningful … because doing work that matters with people who care? That’s my kind of success.
